Exhibition of musical instruments

Τhe exhibition of Ancient, Byzantine and Post Byzantine Musical Instruments includes instruments from the personal collection of Mr Christodoulos Halaris, a well known Greek musicologist and conductor. It is hosted in the offices of the old community of Oia.

The instruments are constructed based on references in the written sources and other historical evidence about their existence and use, from prehistoric times to the Byzantine Empire. They are built as replicas of the original, in an effort to highlight the music culture over the centuries.
