LOST ATLANTIS

Discover the world’s first museum dedicated to the myth of Atlantis, located in Megalohori, Santorini. Atlantis is the most famous mythological city, and while many places claim to be its origin, Santorini’s volcanic eruption offers the most compelling explanation behind the legend.

Step into a journey through Greek history, mythology, philosophy, and geology, brought to life through innovative technology. The museum features interactive videos, augmented reality, animated holograms, and a 9D experience, allowing visitors to explore the legend, witness the catastrophic eruption, and connect Atlantis to Santorini’s past.

Through digital installations, visitors can learn about the Minoan history of Santorini and its connection to Atlantis, explore the largest diorama of the lost city, and experience its daily life through virtual time windows. A holographic display showcases Santorini’s geological evolution, while an animated hologram of Plato brings the philosopher to life, inviting visitors to engage with his philosophy and theories on Atlantis. The 9D experience recreates the earthquake, tsunami, and volcanic eruption that led to Atlantis’ destruction, immersing visitors in the dramatic events of the past.

All exhibits are available in eight languages: Greek, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, and Chinese.
