Athinios, our main port
The main port of Santorini, lies southwest of Fira and offers cafés, travel agencies etc. Due to ground morphology and sheer rocks, the road leading to Athinios is narrow and winding.
From there you can take a boat and go on a day trip to the volcano and Therassia.
Athinios is connected to Fira and all other Santorini villages by buses running in coordination with boat arrivals and departures. Timetables are posted at the main stop, at Fira square. During summer, buses run more often and, apart from the most popular destinations, you can also visit other places of interest.

- In Santorini, there are a lot of taxi and some of them will be at the port when you arrive. The central taxi stand is at Fira square (tel. +30 22860 22555). Charges are determined yearly, according to destination and season (low or high).
